The Album Leaf - Into the Blue Again

I should call my mother. It’s been a couple of days since we last talked, and The Album Leaf’s Into the Blue Again has me feeling guilty for not calling her.
I’m not sure what it is about Jimmy LaVelle’s latest release, but it fills me with an incredible sense of nostalgia. Maybe I hallucinated this album back in high school or something, and now it’s finally been realized.
Whatever it is, I keep going back to listen to Into the Blue Again once more. It’s very multi-purpose, as long as the mood is chill. If you want to raise hell or par-tay with your posse, I wouldn’t recommend this album. But for generally relaxing background music or binaural exploration, The Album Leaf delivers.
You can grab a book and some cider and play the album in the background (on repeat for that matter) and have a wonderfully relaxing and enriching afternoon. Or, you can throw on the headphones, flick on the blacklight and peel back the layers of each song. And after your perfect day filled with The Album Leaf, you can put ItBA on as you go to sleep and let LaVelle’s multi-instrumental wanderings lead you to dreams.
With warm arrangements lushed out with plenty of reverb and delay but just enough saturation and distortion, ItBA masks the simple, often repetitive chord structures. Layers bleed in and out, and overdubs add enough tension that, when a few instruments drop out, you realize those four chords have taken a new shape.
There is a pleasant mix of electronic and acoustic drums that keeps the listening fresh, also. Simple and sincere lyrics every few songs keep the listening experience from solely being a soundtrack to a cool autumn afternoon, and those songs would not be too displaced in company with Smashing Pumpkins’ Adore.
If you enjoy the majestic soundscapes of Sigur Rös or Mogwai, then spend some quality time with the latest Album Leaf to fall from the tree.

Ha!
You would think that they world have OK’d it at the beginning instead of allowing it to go so long without saying a thing and then bringing it back up when it was too late. I don’t understand it at all. Testosterone Enhancement
